Note: This training is for people who have already attended the two-day Visit Coaching training.
Family visits with children in out-of-home care are an underutilized service that can be the most significant assistance the child welfare agency provides for safe reunification. Visit coaching is fundamentally different from supervised visits. The coach is actively involved in guiding parents in meeting their children’s needs and making each visit fun for the children.
The one-day Visit Coaching follow-up sessions will provide an opportunity for each visit coach who participated in the two-day Visit Coaching training to discuss strategies and challenges they’ve had using this approach.
The coaches will benefit from hearing each other's successes and challenges. These group supervision sessions are Day 3 of the training as the coaches refine how they practice what they learned in the two-day training.
