Group Supervision (Virtual Training)

Prerequisite: Completion of the SOP Foundational training is required.

Group supervision is an essential tool that supervisors can use to improve staff decisions, enhance critical thinking among teams, and support implementation and skill development for Safety Organized Practice (SOP). The course will introduce the process of mapping cases with a unit or team to promote shared understanding and applied knowledge of harm, danger, complicating factors, safety and supporting strengths on a given case and across all cases.

After attending this training, participants will be able to:

• Use a structured model of group supervision to positively influence social workers' case decisions and working relationships with children, youth and families
• Use a structured shared supervision process to provide social workers with significant opportunities to learn and grow their practice
• Build critical thinking skills among staff members and teams while weaving in the principles of SOP
