UC Davis High Fidelity Wraparound Behavioral Health Center of Excellence Announces Expanded Statewide Offerings
Robust Resources Help Counties and Providers Strengthen Youth Behavioral-Health Services; New Slate of Trainings Begins in August
The Resource Center for Family-Focused Practice (RCFFP)—part of Human Services at UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education—is expanding statewide trainings and implementation support offered through its High Fidelity Wraparound Behavioral Health Center of Excellence.
To help increase access to High Fidelity Wraparound for all youth under 21 who need intensive, family-centered care—regardless of system involvement—and to ensure statewide fidelity to practice standards so services are consistent and effective across California, the center is providing:
- Statewide foundational, role-based and advanced Wraparound training for counties and provider agencies
- Technical assistance tailored to county needs
- Fidelity monitoring to strengthen practice
- Resource library to support High Fidelity Wraparound practice
- Data collection and reporting
"Access to high-quality Wraparound shouldn’t depend on a ZIP code," said Alison Book, M.S.W., LCSW, UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education’s associate dean of Human Services. "Statewide implementation ensures all youth and their families have equitable access to high-quality Wraparound—regardless of geography."
Why Wraparound Matters
Wraparound is a strengths-based, family-centered and team-driven approach to providing comprehensive care for children with complex needs. It is designed to support children and families in a way that keeps the child in the home and community, rather than institutional settings. Learn more.
Beginning in August, counties and provider agencies will see an expanding catalog of trainings, technical assistance opportunities, implementation resources and fidelity supports designed to support the High Fidelity Wraparound model phase-in.
"When Wraparound is implemented to fidelity, youth experience greater stability and stronger long-term outcomes,” said Center of Excellence Director Lia Bresciani, LCSW. “We’re proud to assist our county and provider partners as they strengthen community behavioral-health services for young Californians and their families.”
