UC Davis Human Services’ Adult Protective Services (APS) Northern Academy has launched a free, online resource hub offering hundreds of resources curated for APS professionals and the older and dependent adults they serve.
What Is the APS Northern Academy?
The Adult Protective Services (APS) Northern Academy supports APS professionals in 28 Northern California counties by delivering comprehensive training, coaching, technical assistance and other workforce development services tailored to the needs of those working with vulnerable adults. Our offerings are designed to build and sustain a consistently high level of knowledge, skill and effective practice among APS staff and leaders.

Developed with input from APS Northern Academy member-county representatives, the APS Resource Hub is organized for quick, practical use. Its straightforward layout, intuitive categories and regular updates make it a one-stop destination for trusted information and tools.
Features include:
- Resources from government agencies, nonprofit organizations, subject matter experts, Tribal partners, stakeholders and educational institutions.
- California-focused content, with special emphasis on the APS Northern Academy's 28 Northern California member counties.
- Two clearly organized pathways—APS Professionals and Partner Agencies and Additional Resources—help users quickly find information for professional or client audiences. Key resources appear in both sections to reduce unnecessary navigation.
- Quick access to information on urgent topics such as housing, food assistance and first-responder guidance.
- Mobile-friendly organization designed for fast access in the field.
- Ongoing updates as recommended by APS professionals to ensure content remains relevant.
The APS Resource Hub is the latest resource developed by the APS Northern Academy since its launch on July 1, 2025. During its first year, the Academy has expanded its offerings to include virtual training, curriculum development, coaching and technical assistance for APS professionals across Northern California.
