In support of statewide implementation of Family First Prevention Services (FFPS), The Northern Academy is proud to offer child welfare, juvenile probation, county, and community partner agency staff with training to support children and families through prevention efforts.
How to Enroll
To enroll, select the title of the course you are interested in, review the course details, then click the "Enroll Now" button. You’ll be redirected to the California Child Welfare Training System (CACWT), where you will be required to log in to your account and follow the prompts to complete your registration.
Don't have a CACWT Account?
If you do not yet have a CACWT account, here are some account-creation instructions specific to each role. If your role is not listed here, please contact us at academy@ucdavis.edu.
- Behavioral Health Social Workers
- If you do not have a CACWT account and are a behavioral health worker, please contact your Child Welfare county training coordinator to request a profile be created for you.
- Community Partners (working with County Child Welfare and/or Probation)
If you do not have a CACWT account and are a community partner working with county child welfare and/or juvenile probation departments, you are able to self-create an account as long as your organization’s email domain has been approved by the county. Instructions for self-account creation are detailed on the CACWT Training Support Website. Access Instructions.
– To check the status of county-approved organization, please see the Vetted County CBO list. If your organization is not listed, please contact the county you serve to request that they submit your organization through the Community Based Organization Vetted Domains form.

- If you do not have a CACWT account and are a county social worker, please contact your county training coordinator to request a profile be created for you.
- County Probation Officers
- If you do not have a CACWT account and are a county probation officer please contact our office at academy@ucdavis.edu to request account creation.
- Tribal Social Workers
- If you do not have a CACWT account and are a Tribal social worker, please contact our office at academy@ucdavis.edu to request account creation.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
Participants enrolled in Northern Academy courses are eligible to receive credit from UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education through Continuing Education Units (CEUs). To learn more about CEUs, please visit our Credit Services webpage.
