FFPS/CPP Northern and Mountain Valley Leadership Learning Collaborative

Please join the Northern Academy and your fellow county leaders across the Northern and Mountain Valley Region in this collaborative learning space for Comprehensive Prevention Plan (CPP) implementation support. The collaborative is an excellent opportunity to share information and experiences, identify solutions for challenges, lift up areas of need and to come together for support and encouragement through your planning and first steps of implementation. The majority of topics will be identified by participants based on county need, with additional updates and discussion on key topics, including:

CA Family First Prevention Services (FFPS) Learning Series
Guidance on funding

Who Should Attend

Child Welfare Directors and/or County Leadership Teams who will be responsible for CPP implementation and sustainability are warmly invited and highly encouraged to join our collaborative learning community.

Monica Montury

Monica Montury, LCSW, M.S.W., is an academic coordinator with Human Services at UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education. She worked for San Luis Obispo County Child Welfare Services from 2010 to 2022 as a social worker and supervisor. Montury has experience supervising all ongoing services and played a lead role in developing the Voluntary Family Maintenance and Child and Family Team Meetings Programs in San Luis Obispo County, which she also supervised. She is a fierce supporter of Safety Organized Practice (SOP) and has extensive experience in implementing, training, and coaching SOP. She also has a passion for supporting Child Welfare agencies in furthering and strengthening prevention efforts and strategies.

Alissa Sykes

Alissa Sykes, M.S.W., has more than 25 years of experience in the child welfare field as a social worker, supervisor, manager and director. In addition to her experience with two Northern California child welfare agencies, Sykes served as an Academic Coordinator for the Northern California Training Academy, applying her subject matter expertise toward organizational development, academic planning, curriculum development and coordination of continuum of care reform and leadership development projects. She continues to provide workforce instruction and county consultation on behalf of UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education.
