RED Teams Learning Collaborative

Learn, Share, and Reinvigorate!

The Northern Academy is inviting you to attend a RED Teams Learning Collaborative as an excellent opportunity to learn about RED Teams and/or reinvigorate existing RED Team practices from a prevention mindset.  Those new to RED Teams will gain an overview of what it means to practice RED Teams to fidelity, discuss how this supports prevention work, and learn from the experiences of their colleagues and community partners. For those with experience utilizing RED Teams, this will be an excellent opportunity to share what has been going well, discuss challenges, and brainstorm how the Northern Academy can provide support for ongoing practice.

About RED Teams and the Shifting Mindset Toward Prevention

California counties are at the onset of a major transformation focused on prevention to reduce the trauma experienced by families, children, and youth who come into contact with child welfare systems, as well as to address the disproportionality and disparity that continues to plague the system. RED (Review, Evaluate, Direct) Teams support prevention efforts through collaborative decision making to evaluate hotline referrals and determine the appropriate level of intervention, including whether a response is needed and, if so, what type.
