The Poirot Executive Program

The UC Davis Poirot Executive Program is designed for county human services executive leaders. The program provides an opportunity for county directors and their leadership teams to engage in a learning opportunity with leaders from across California. The program addresses the opportunities and challenges leaders face in an ever-changing climate. The instructors are thought leaders in public service who present on best practices and facilitate discussions on how to lead and manage agencies to ensure positive outcomes for the children, adults, families and communities served.

The program is held four times per year on the Tuesday evening and Wednesday during the same week of the County Welfare Directors Association (CWDA) monthly meetings.

Typical format for each program sessions is as follows:

  • Tuesday evening networking and dinner starting at 5:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday formal training with breakfast at 8:15 a.m., updates from UC Davis’ Human Services Programs at 8:30 a.m., and training session from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
