Hosted by UC Davis Human Services as a live virtual event, the 2025 Autumn Institute for Public Assistance Professionals is an ideal opportunity to examine issues and assess best practices. Every year, managers, supervisors and workers from across California and beyond connect with UC Davis to learn new techniques for efficient, effective and sensitive delivery of services.

This year, we're going all in on the theme Mission Possible, because together we've proven time and again that we can and do make the impossible possible. We invite you to join us as we learn new strategies, expand our thinking and continue to grow in our capacity to serve the adults and families in our communities in new, innovative and positively impactful ways.
What to Expect

The Autumn Institute takes place as a three-day (mornings only) virtual event, using Zoom as the interactive platform. We’ll have two keynote presentations and networking sessions for all participants to join. Each day will include breakout workshops designed for professionals working in specific roles within their organization as well as specific topics of interest.
Expect the Unexpected...workshop tracks!
Look for an enlivened and engaging slate of workshops at this year's Autumn Institute! Some workshop tracks to expect include:
Go Go Gadgets
This workshop track aims to leverage all of the data collection and decision-making tools available to support public assistance professionals and the communities they serve.
Mission Recon
This track will include program updates, family engagement strategies and tips and tools to supporting and improving outcomes for some of our most vulnerable and marginalized populations.
Maximizing Your Team
Follow this leadership-focused track to learn how to build your team, utilize the DISC in the workplace, have crucial conversations and avoid causing unintended stress among your peers and team members.
Getting Your Head and Heart Into the Game
This track will look at the crucial concepts of self-care, wellness and resiliency in order to help you build and/or bolster a growth mindset.
