The Management Development Series (MDS) 1 & 2 are designed to engage managers and executive leaders of Human Services agencies in a professional development opportunity that introduces evidence-based research, models and frameworks from the field of management. UC Davis has adapted an effective management framework for the field of human services, and provides courses that will support managers in advancing their skills in the following areas:
- Leading Change
- Leading in Context
- Leading People
- Leading for Results
Ultimately, managers will learn how to create and sustain a culture of accountability and continuous quality improvement that will lead to results that drive positive outcomes for the value of the children, adults and families served by the Human Services agencies.
Instructors will use a variety of methods including self-assessments in management, credibility, influence, communication and teams; lectures, group discussion and videos on relevant topics; transfer of learning plans to create an action plan for their personal commitment to application of new ideas; and one-on-one coaching. Participants will leave each session with an action plan for their personal commitment to application of new ideas.
Add Value with One-on-One Coaching
Optional one-on-one coaching is available for participants in this program at an additional cost. Please contact your workforce development specialist for more information.
