Beginner Excel: Vocabulary, Data Entry, Formatting and Compatible Files

Course Overview

This workshop introduces participants to Microsoft Excel for everyday data entry and presentation. Participants will learn essential Excel terminology, navigate worksheets and workbooks using both the mouse and keyboard shortcuts, and perform common tasks such as creating and managing worksheets, saving files, and copying and pasting data.

The course explores Excel's basic features for working with text and numerical data, including simple mathematical formulas, common fill techniques, named cells, frozen panes and grouped data. Participants will also practice formatting cells, worksheets and printed pages, use Excel's built-in templates and save files in appropriate formats for different needs.

Learning Objectives

After attending this training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand Excel terminology and navigate worksheets and workbooks.
  • Practice data entry and apply basic mathematical formulas in Excel.
  • Format data and worksheets and prepare documents for printing.
  • Explore Excel templates and select appropriate file formats for saving data.

Fee Details: The enrollment fee for this 1-day class is $255.00 per participant or .06 training units for those utilizing their county contract. This fee includes quality instruction from subject-matter expert(s), research-based curricula and all digital course materials.

Training Format: This program will be offered via remote learning using Zoom. Login information will be provided after your enrollment is processed.

Those paying by check or with credit card, please have payment to us at your earliest convenience.

To be officially dropped from the class, please notify us at least 10 business days prior to the training start date to drop a class and cancel the billing, or request a refund of fees paid, less than a $30 processing fee (no exceptions).
