IP-CANS Entry Into CARES-Live Training

Overview

The IP-CANS Entry Into CARES training was offered as a live, 2-hour virtual training session. It provided an overview of the Integrated Practice Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths assessment (IP-CANS) data entry policy and a demonstration of how to enter IP-CANS data into the California Automated Response and Engagement System – Live (CARES-Live). The training was designed to prepare placing agencies to comply with requirements issued in All County Letter (ACL) Number 25-10,  ACL 25-54, and ACL 25-69– CFT and CANS Policy Letters.

A recording of the training, along with supporting materials, have are now available.

Who Should Review the Materials?

The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and the Child Welfare Digital Services (CWDS) project encouraged all new California Automated Response and Engagement System – Live (CARES-Live) users to attend, including all placing agencies (County Child Welfare Agencies, County Probation Departments, and Tribes with a California Title IV-E Agreement). Agencies that were unable to attend live sessions may benefit from reviewing the recordings and materials, particularly when partnering together or coordinating regionally with counties and other placing agencies.
