Course Overview
Conflict is a natural part of working with others, but how we respond to conflict can significantly impact relationships, collaboration and organizational outcomes. This interactive course explores practical strategies for navigating workplace conflict with greater awareness, confidence and intention. Participants will examine their own responses to conflict, including avoidance and other common conflict behaviors, and explore how competing priorities, differing perspectives, communication styles and limited resources can contribute to tension. Through interactive activities, discussion, reflection and real-world scenarios, participants will practice skills for managing difficult conversations and moving from conflict toward productive resolution.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Identify common patterns of conflict (avoidance, escalation, miscommunication) and their impact on team and client outcomes.
- Analyze how assumptions, emotions and power dynamics influence conflict within teams.
- Apply a six-step conflict framework to structure and navigate challenging workplace conversations.
