Long Term Care and Home and Community Alternatives in Medi-Cal

Long-term care cases present some of the most challenging scenarios in Medi-Cal eligibility. This comprehensive workshop equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to evaluate complex cases involving institutional care. Participants will explore definitions and levels of care, budgeting and property assessments, maintenance needs for the community spouse, income and resource allocations for spouses and dependent children, and Share of Cost determinations.

Through hands-on exercises and real-world examples, attendees will learn how to accurately assess eligibility for individuals requiring Intermediate Care or Skilled Nursing Facility services.
