Trauma-Informed Practices for Emergency Response
Course Summary
This one-day course builds upon foundational knowledge of trauma-informed practices by providing participants with a deeper understanding of trauma and its manifestations in children and families. By integrating techniques such as solution-focused questioning, kin-first culture and the three questions framework, participants will explore how these tools can be effectively utilized within their specific scope of work to minimize the trauma of child welfare intervention and aid in the prevention of future abuse and neglect and further system involvement.
Participants will utilize real-world examples to apply trauma-informed practices and to highlight the importance of organizational support in mitigating secondary traumatic stress.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for participants who have a foundational understanding of trauma-informed tools and Safety Organized Practice and are seeking to further develop their skills in applying these practices.
