Emergency Response social workers have a significant ability and responsibility to minimize trauma to children and families wherever possible during the child welfare services investigation process. This one-day course provides an overview of trauma-informed practices that can be implemented in daily practice during each stage of the emergency response process, including initial reporting, interviewing, assessment, safety planning, in-home family support and/or removal.
