Module 1 | Critical Thinking and Ethical Decision Making

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the importance of behavioral language in establishing clarity
  • Use critical thinking as a process and best practice in leadership
  • Learn about ethical reasoning and problem-solving
  • Discover the root cause of any challenge and better direct time and effort

Module 2 | Time and Stress Management for Supervision

Learning Objectives:

  • Assess and re-evaluate prioritization of time and energy
  • Apply models and resources to help delegate and effectively manage time and energy
  • Understand connections, stress, and burnout in the field of supervision Understand models for wellness & stress management
  • Identify effective stress management techniques

Module 3 | Change Management

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify types of change within the workplace
  • Understand the adoption of organizational change
  • Understand and apply change management models & techniques
  • Examine how to manage complex change effectively
  • Explore the influence of a leader in change management

Module 4 | Project Management and Delegation

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand and develop an effective process for delegation
  • Relate the process for delegation to the phases of project management, including how project management is scalable to the size and complexity of the project
  • Examine effective strategies for delegating work
  • Create and test a delegation plan Learn the five phases of project management
  • Compare effective delegation to the phases of project management Identify common roles a supervisor plays in the various phases of project management

Module 5 | Building Capacity and Retention through Coaching and Mentoring

Learning Objectives:

  • Continually adjust performance through coaching in the flow of work
  • Develop a coaching mindset
  • Examine and apply the coaching framework Identify the conditions for change

Training Format: This program will be offered via remote learning using Zoom. Login information will be provided after your enrollment is processed. Also, a reminder will be sent to you about a week prior to first day of class.  

Fee Details: The program enrollment fee is .30 training units per person for those utilizing their county contract or $1295.00 per person. The fee for this 5-day program includes a copy of materials and book needed for the program. 

The following book will be provided:

Project Management: Absolute Beginner’s Guide 

All materials will be delivered to your county/agency office prior to first session.

Coaching: No coaching will be offered or required for this program, but if you want coaching, please request it through your county contact or training coordinator. 

Enrollment Policies

Attendance in every module is strongly encouraged; however, attendance in the program's first module is required. Failing to attend the first module will result in a non-refundable, discontinued program enrollment.
Participants who miss more than one module for this series will not be eligible for a virtual certificate of completion.
Please note that SDS I must be completed before SDS II.

Enrollment closes on 1/6/25. 

Those paying by check or with credit card, please have payment to us no later than two weeks prior to start of class.

To be officially dropped from the class, please notify us at least 10 business days prior to the training start date to drop a class and cancel the billing, or request a refund of fees paid, less a $30 processing fee (no exceptions). Substitutions can be done with a 48-hour minimum notice prior to the training start date. A 48-hour notice is needed to get all updated information processed.
