Supervisory Meeting Mastery: Planning, Facilitation, and Performance Conversations
Course Overview
This course is designed to strengthen supervisors’ competencies in planning, facilitating and participating in effective workplace meetings. Participants will explore the purpose and structure of different meeting types while building practical skills in agenda development, role clarity, managing participant behavior and establishing actionable next steps. The course also addresses common meeting challenges and provides strategies for leading discussions related to employee performance.
In addition, the course emphasizes accurate and timely employee performance documentation connected to both group and individual meetings. Learners will practice coaching-based communication techniques, behaviorally focused feedback strategies and approaches for engaging in crucial conversations related to performance management. Upon completion of the course, participants will be prepared to apply meeting leadership, coaching and documentation strategies in supervisory settings to support organizational effectiveness and employee development.
Learning Objectives
After attending this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify common types of workplace meetings and summarize appropriate facilitation approaches based on meeting purpose and desired outcomes.
- Apply meeting planning strategies, including defining objectives, participant roles and follow-up actions, to support effective meetings.
- Demonstrate communication and feedback strategies to address common meeting challenges, including disruptive behaviors and performance-related concerns.
- Analyze employee performance information discussed in meetings and apply behavior-based documentation practices in accordance with supervisory standards.
- Utilize coaching questions and structured conversation frameworks to facilitate constructive, performance-focused discussions with employees.
- Evaluate opportunities to transfer meeting leadership, coaching and documentation skills to supervisory practice to improve effectiveness and accountability.

Fee Details: The enrollment fee for this 1-day class is $255.00 per participant or .06 training units for those utilizing their county contract. This fee includes quality instruction from subject-matter expert(s), research-based curricula and all digital course materials.
Training Format: This program will be offered via remote learning using Zoom. Login information will be provided after your enrollment is processed.
