Onboarding New Staff (eLearning)

This course defines onboarding and presents strategies to help APS supervisors successfully integrate new professionals into both APS practice and the broader organization. Participants will learn why structured onboarding matters, how to set training goals, assess employee progress and deliver meaningful support and feedback. The course also highlights the value of critical thinking in the onboarding process.

After attending this training, participants will be able to:

• Define onboarding and its importance
• Describe the supervisor’s role in the onboarding process
• List four key components of an effective onboarding plan
• Identify at least one benefit of critical thinking skills for APS professionals
• Practice evaluating an employee’s performance and providing effective feedback using a case scenario

NOTE: This course is self-paced and can be started and completed anytime between July 1 and June 30.
