Mindfulness: A Trauma-Informed Approach
About the course
Social service professionals have a higher incidence of traumatic stress compared to the general population. Present-centered awareness and focused attention, or mindfulness, is one powerful tool for managing traumatic stress and enhancing health and well-being, Workplace research is also demonstrating that mindfulness significantly increases employee engagement, satisfaction and team effectiveness. Utilizing interactive discussions and experiential exercises, this one-day training explores and offers participants a chance to practice mindfulness.

This training is recommended for all human services at any level within their organization who are interested in learning more about and practicing mindfulness.
What will I learn in this training?
After attending this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify signs/symptoms of stress/trauma in self and others
- Differentiate between different forms of trauma
- Explore strengths and limitations of mindfulness practice
- Identify personal risk factors and maladaptive coping
