IP-CANS in Supervision Coaching Staff Towards Practice Integration (previously Module C)

This one-day workshop is for child welfare managers and supervisors who support social workers, mental health clinicians, juvenile probation staff, contracted providers, CANS completers, and CFT facilitators in using the CANS in child welfare and mental health practice.

Prerequisite(s)

Completion of one of the following trainings is strongly recommended prior to enrolling:

  • The CANS: Supporting Collaborative Assessment and Action Planning (formerly known as Module A); or
  • The CANS: Overview and Preparation for Certification (formerly known as Module B)

What You’ll Learn

After this training, you’ll be able to:

  • Support staff in implementing team-based practice models.
  • Prepare staff for the CANS-informed Tiered Rate Structure. 
  • Apply Supervision GPS to enhance staff learning and skills.
  • Guide teams in using CANS to inform case planning in CFT meetings.
  • Coach staff on integrating CANS findings into casework decisions.
  • Facilitate consensus-building to identify strengths and needs.
  • Promote family engagement, self-advocacy, and cultural considerations in the CANS process.
