HFW Role Refresher - Youth Partner

This 2-hour refresher course is part of the required training curriculum under the California High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) Center of Excellence (COE) and is intended to build alignment and a shared understanding of the Youth Partner role within the California HFW model. Designed for current and returning Youth Partners, this course revisits the purpose and value of the Youth Partner role, clarifies the key responsibilities of an effective Youth Partner, and reviews the foundational skills that support youth engagement, self-advocacy, effective teaming, and fidelity. By the end of the session, participants will have renewed confidence in their role and a clearer understanding of the core skills and responsibilities that contribute to effective peer support and meaningful youth partnership.

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
  • Describe the purpose and key responsibilities of the Youth Partner role within the California HFW model.
  • Identify the foundational competencies that support youth engagement, self-advocacy, and peer partnership.
  • Explain how the Youth Partner role promotes youth voice, choice, and fidelity within the Wraparound process.
