Extended Foster Care Legislative and Practice Updates Webinar

Tailored for child welfare workers, eligibility workers, supervisors, and managers who interact with and support non-minor dependent (NMD) youth and transitioning age youth, this webinar will review recent legislative changes involving NMD youth and transitioning age youth, as well as provide helpful suggestions for changes in practice to best serve NMDs within the context of the new laws.

David Meyers

David Meyers, J.D., is the chief operating officer of Dependency Legal Services and the principal shareholder of the Law Offices of David M. Meyers, where he serves as a national consultant, trainer and attorney advocate in child welfare cases. He has been working in child welfare since 1995. Previously, he served as a senior attorney with California's Administrative Office of the Courts, Center for Families Children and the Courts (CFCC), where he developed statewide curriculum training and development for attorneys and court professionals engaged in juvenile law practice. Meyers is currently a consultant with the American Bar Association's National Resource Center for Juvenile and Legal Issues and a member of its Parent Attorney Representation Project Steering Committee, where he works to advance child welfare issues throughout the country.
