ECHO Series-Dementia Care: Beyond the Diagnosis
ECHO Series-Dementia Care: Beyond the Diagnosis
The framework for this activity is the All Teach, All Learn model, providing case-based learning in a forum where Subject Matter Experts, adult protection specialists and workers collaborate to learn about Adult Protective Services (APS) cases. Dr. Rebecca Sue Boxer, Division Chief of Geriatrics, Hospice and Palliative Care for UC Davis Internal Medicine, and esteemed members of her Geriatrics team will lead the session. They will provide experiential training and consultation regarding clients with dementia and other neurocognitive conditions. Learners will integrate theory into practice by participating in case-based training, followed by live questions and case consultation.
Leaners will leave with:
- Practical field skills to assess, support and advocate for clients living with dementia and common neurocognitive conditions
- Increased understanding of how to better communicate and collaborate with providers, family members and clients
- Case-specific recommendations and best practices from Subject Matter Experts, APS specialists, peers and colleagues
