Child and Family Team (CFT) Meetings: Facilitation Training

This intensive training is designed to provide participants with basic meeting facilitation knowledge and skills. Utilizing the Integrated Core Practice Model (ICPM) as the foundational guide for CFT meeting facilitators, trainees will learn about:

  • Key elements of team meetings for safety and case planning
  • Procedural basics of team meeting facilitation
  • The role of the facilitator
  • Facilitator skills
  • Structured problem-solving and solution-focused dialogue within team meetings
  • Creating safe, inclusive and empowering spaces for child/youth and family voice and choice
  • Introducing and using the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) to reflect the needs and strengths of the child and family
Trainees will have opportunities for hands-on facilitation practice throughout the 5-day training and will be equipped to facilitate child and family team meetings across the intervention continuum that address safety, permanency, and well-being.
