Case First Steps and Professional Safety (California)

This course guides Adult Protective Services professionals through the process of collecting critical information from an initial report and using that information to develop an effective response plan. It also highlights the importance of anticipating safety risks and implementing strategies to ensure professional safety in the field.

After attending this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the goals of the intake process

  • Evaluate information received in the initial report

  • Identify safety protocols for working in the community

  • Identify methods of working with a client’s fears and concerns

  • Recognize potentially dangerous situations to remain safe
