Anti-Racist Practice: Allyship (Virtual Training)

Allyship is an active, consistent, and ongoing practice in which a person holding systemic power seeks to end oppression in solidarity with a group of people who are systemically disempowered. This training will explore what it means to be an ally against racism in a Human Services profession.

After attending this training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the definition of privilege and what it means to have multiple identities
  • Value the importance of being an ally to individuals who are disadvantaged due to race/ethnicity in order to create a just and equitable society
  • Understand what it means to be an ally
  • Learn what it takes to fulfill the duties allyship requires and develop a plan for action
