WTW Exemption Procedures & Re-Engagement Strategies

To remain in compliance with the Welfare to Work (WTW) program, all case managers are required to accurately apply exemptions. This course provides answers to many of the questions case managers have regarding exemptions. Participants will review CDSS Manual Policy and Procedures and current ACL updates regarding exemptions. Re-engagement strategies that have worked for case managers will be presented through interactive and hands on skills practice regarding all medical and child under exemptions.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Fully understand who qualifies for each exemption based on current regulations
• Review and approve the CW 61 for accuracy
• Successfully complete the CW 2186B correctly in all scenarios
• Use the re-engagement suggestions to come up with their own marketing plan via flyers and appointment letter verbiage
