San Mateo County Behavioral Health has integrated occupational therapy professionals to bring a sensory-focused approach to mental health support, benefiting children and youth with complex care needs and the broader system of care serving them.

This webinar will help participants understand the fundamental needs and behavioral building blocks of children and youth with complex care needs. We'll use a neurodevelopmental perspective to help us support their ability to thrive. We will also cover sensory processing and its impact on self-regulation, co-regulation and reasoning, which provide a fundamental way to support children and youth with complex trauma and mental health needs.

Presenter:

Kimberly Fezler, MS, OTR/L, has over 25 years of experience at San Mateo County Behavioral Health & Recovery, the BHRS Therapeutic Day School Program and The Pre to Three Program.
