As a community member, looking for a way to help and lend your voice on behalf of children and families in a community can be overwhelming. The work of child welfare and partner agencies encompasses a wide range of activities from prevention to permanency. The voice of individuals and families is important to ensure that services are meeting the needs of the target audience. To help know the right fit for consumer representatives, training, which provides an overview on common child welfare processes, is available.

- Teaming models such as Team Decision Making or Family Group Decision Making
- Transitional conferencing
- Wraparound services
- Residentially based services
- Court appointed special advocates
Participants will understand some of the opportunities available within a community to make a difference in the lives of families and children.
