Supervisors have a significant role in creating the support structure for professionals who provide services to children and families. Coaching can be an integral part of building that structure, as well as deepening the practitioner’s critical-thinking and engagement skills. This module addresses ways to develop a structure that can enhance the casework skills of social workers. Participants will understand their leadership strengths, strategies for building on those strengths, productive case consultation and how to support and guide the work of their staff, as well as how supervisors can integrate coaching as a part of routine supervision. Advanced SOP will be discussed as it applies to supervisors.
