SDM Refresher

This workshop will focus on the use of Structured Decision Making (SDM) in everyday supervisory situations. It will include a review of SDM policies and procedures and provide an opportunity to practice and improve upon the application of SDM tools during supervision.

After attending this training, participants will be able to:

• Coach social workers to gather family information using the SDM assessment tools
• Use the SDM assessment tools for supervision with staff
• Problem solve with staff using the SDM assessment tools when it comes to child safety and future risk/harm
• Conduct case readings utilizing social work practice and the SDM assessment tools

Participants who complete this training will value and understand the practical application of SDM in child welfare supervision.
