SDM Overview

This class will provide an overview of Structured Decision Making.

Learning objectives:

• Review the definitions of safety, risk and protective capacity in assessing families due to abuse and neglect
• Identify elements of a safety plan
• Review the concept of the Minimum Sufficient Level of Care
• Value the importance of family and the community in assessing safety and risk
• Review each of the SDM tools, their purpose and ways they inform decision making
