CFSR Quality Assurance Training

This training is required by All County Quality Assurance Reviewers.

Quality Assurance training is a two-day intensive overview to support the Quality Assurance Certification Process in California.

Goals of Training: 
1)    You will understand the fundamentals, purpose, and role of the QA staff.
2)    You will learn the operational functions of the case review unit.  
3)    You will learn the QA’s role in the process of completing case reviews from start to finish timely.
4)    You will learn how to be a coach to the case review team.
5)     You will learn coaching activities that you can use with your team.
6)    You will be able to describe and complete the process of processing quality inquires. 
7)    You will be able to describe the OMS procedures for gathering data for the CQI process. 

Prerequisite:  Registrants must meet the following pre-requisite to attend. 
This training requires that registrants attended the Round 3 to Round 4 CFSR Case Review Refresher Training or attended a Round 4 CFSR Case Review four-day training and complete the QA training modules on the E-Learning Academy prior to attending this 2-day QA training.  Additionally, participants must bring their Round 4 CFSR Case Review binder from the Round 4 CFSR Case Review four-day training or bring their CFSR Case Review binder that they updated from Round 3 to Round 4 based on the Round 3 to Round 4 CFSR Case Review Refresher Training.

How to complete the QA Training Module on the E-Learning Training Academy:

  1. Each participant will already have obtained access to the E-Learning Activity when you completed the pre-requites for the 4-Day training. 
  2. Go to https://www.cfsrportal.acf.hhs.gov/ and log into the Child and Family Services Reviews (CFSR) Information Portal log-in. 
  3. Go to E-Learning Academy- Round 3 E-Learning Academy- OSRI Quality Assurance. Participants will complete: 
    • QA Overview Module
      • Video: QA Overall Video
    • QA Staff Module
      • Video 1: Stages of QA
      • Video 2: Types of Errors
      • Video 3: Writing Effective QA Notes and Returning the Case
      • Samantha Brower QA Mock Case
      • Tony Morris Mock Case
      • Jessica Hillerman QA Mock Case
  4. After completing the QA Overview Module and QA Training Module: email JBS at ela@cfsrportal.org to request your Certificates of Completion for the QA Overview Module and the QA Staff Module. The email must include your name and the name of the completed courses.
  5. Once the certificates are received, participants must send both certificates to the CDSS (cwscasereviews@dss.ca.gov) prior to the last day of registration.
