Policy and Practice for Supervisors (Make Up)

This supervisory-level course provides the policy context for child welfare practice and how those policies apply to the role of the supervisor.

After attending this training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the history of child welfare that has informed current policy
  • Monitor California’s progress in the federal outcomes as part of the Federal Child and Family Services Review and understand how County performance impacts overall State performance and funding

In addition, this training will explore the role of the supervisor as a change agent to support, train, mentor and lead child welfare social work practice toward improvement and better outcomes.

Participants have two weeks to complete this five-hour online course. This course meets the Policy and Practice requirement for Module 4 of the Core for Supervisors series.
