Natural Supports Skills Lab

This course is a follow-up to the Foundational Wraparound training, designed to delve deeper into the process of identifying, engaging and retaining natural supports for children, youth and families. It is a hands-on skills lab with minimal traditional instruction, encouraging participants to practice their techniques for working with natural supports within the Wraparound process.  

In this course, participants will learn how to: 

  • Work with families to identify and engage natural supports. 
  • Illustrate various considerations in securing natural supports.
  • Identify individualized strategies for engaging and retaining natural supports on a Child and Family Team (CFT). 
  • Apply practical strategies to assist families or team members in identifying natural supports. 
  • Identify how natural supports can be utilized in the four phases of Wraparound.
