Mandated Reporting

In California, certain individuals are required by law to report known or suspected child abuse. These mandated reporters are mostly people whose jobs bring them into contact with children. This workshop provides an overview of the definitions, requirements and protections of the Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA).

Topics Include:

• Reviewing law requirements as a mandated reporter.
• Recognizing indicators of possible child abuse or neglect.
• Examining and practicing documentation for accurate reporting.
• Identifying processes after a report is filed.
