This DEI training is highly interactive and designed for leaders to gain an introduction to DEI leadership theory and practices. It will introduce participants to key concepts and methods for effective understanding and development of DEI principles in the workplace. Participants will enhance their awareness of gender, race, intersectionality and privilege, as well as proven methods for utilizing a DEI lens to be inclusive of staff and the community. The series and the activities are meant to increase awareness of inequality and bias, as it can influence how we behave toward each other.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the meaning of diversity, equity and inclusion
- Cultivate awareness and sensitivity to diversity issues that go well beyond the assumed categories
- Identify behavioral tools for fostering a more inclusive mindset in the workplace
- Recognize the benefits of integrating diversity, equity and inclusion while leading
