Employment & Training Trainer Academy
The Employment and Training Academy enhances the competencies of workforce development professionals. This academy provides evidence-based strategies, practical tools, and current labor market insights to support job seekers—particularly those receiving public assistance—in achieving sustainable employment outcomes. Participants will strengthen their facilitation skills, improve client engagement, and learn to align job readiness services with the demands of today’s evolving workforce.
Each module includes interactive activities, real-world applications, and opportunities for reflection to ensure participants can immediately apply their learning in the field.
Module 1: Strategies for Engaging a Multi-Generational Workforce
This module equips facilitators with the skills to effectively engage learners across three primary generational cohorts: Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z. Participants will explore generational values, communication styles, and learning preferences to foster inclusive, bias-free environments. Emphasis is placed on adapting instruction and feedback to meet diverse learner needs and building rapport across age groups.
After attending this module, participants will be able to:

Module 2: Beyond the Barrier: Supporting Executive Functioning, Confidence, and Career Momentum
This module equips career practitioners with practical strategies to support multi-barriered clients in achieving employment and personal growth goals. It focuses on addressing cognitive and executive functioning challenges that affect planning, follow-through, emotional regulation, and job-search consistency. Through coaching conversations, micro-goal setting, and strengths-based approaches, practitioners learn to build client momentum in a supportive, community-centered way.
After attending this module, participants will be able to:
• Identify how cognitive and executive functioning barriers may affect a client’s ability to plan, follow through, communicate needs, and maintain employment momentum.
• Apply coaching strategies that support confidence building, self-advocacy, decision-making, and personal accountability for multi-barriered clients.
• Develop realistic micro-goals that help clients break employment-related tasks into manageable, measurable, and achievable steps.
• Strengthen their ability to serve underserved communities by using trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approaches that support long-term career progress
Module 3: Strategic Career Advisor Tools for Workforce Success
This module provides facilitators with up-to-date labor market intelligence and coaching strategies to help clients navigate the modern job search. Participants will analyze hiring trends, employer expectations, and the impact of remote and hybrid work models. The training emphasizes aligning client strengths with current recruitment practices to improve employment outcomes.

• Interpret labor market data to identify high-growth industries and in-demand skills.
• Develop coaching strategies that align with employer expectations and hiring practices.
• Equip clients with digital job search tools and techniques suited for today’s workforce.
Module 4: Resume Techniques to Elevate Client Marketability
This module focuses on resume development strategies that reflect current employer preferences and applicant tracking system (ATS) requirements. Participants will learn how to guide clients in crafting skills-based resumes, optimizing keywords, and articulating transferable skills. The session includes hands-on resume critiques and techniques for building client confidence.

• Analyze modern resume formats and trends to enhance client visibility in competitive markets.
• Coach clients in identifying and communicating transferable skills aligned with job requirements.
• Create and evaluate resumes using effective formatting, summaries, and keyword strategies.
Module 5: Interview Mastery to Empower Client Success
This module prepares facilitators to coach clients through various interview formats, including behavioral and virtual interviews. Participants will learn how to teach structured response techniques such as STAR and SHARE, build storytelling skills, and provide actionable feedback. The training includes mock interview practice and strategies for post-interview follow-up.
After attending this training, participants will be able to:
