This training provides participants with an opportunity to apply critical thinking and interviewing skills to the process of receiving referrals for child welfare services. The values and strategies of Safety Organized Practice (SOP) will be applied.
Topics include:
- Providing sufficient information to determine whether a referral should be screened-in or out
- Providing sufficient information to determine the appropriate response time
- Using the Three Questions of SOP for a balanced interview to determine referral acceptance and response time
- Using solution-focused interviewing strategies to enhance the referral interview and acquire information
