The premise of this workshop is for participants who have already acquired some foundational grant writing skills and are now ready to delve deeper into the subject matter. This workshop builds upon the foundation of a Grant Writing 101 workshop and offers more advanced content and a clearer understanding of the funder’s priorities, wants, needs, and guidelines. The workshop also introduces a rubric that can be adapted and used by grant writers to assess and measure their grant proposals consistently while providing valuable feedback to applicants.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
• Develop the skills to effectively interpret grant application deliverables, enabling them to identify and articulate specific measurable outcomes and objectives that funding agencies expect in their proposals.
• Understand the significance of a well-written narrative, as funders look for a clear, compelling, and engaging story that explains the problem your project addresses, the proposed solution, and the potential impact.
• Demonstrating a basic understanding of what funders are asking for in the different parts of a grant layout in their call for requests.
• How to use a grant writing rubric with the categories “Minimal," "Sufficient," and "Optimal" to help evaluate the quality of grant proposals effectively and see where parts of the grant can be enhanced.
