FURS Regional Convening

This convening will offer an opportunity for Northern and Mt. Valley Child Welfare agencies to discuss where they are in the process of implementing the Family Urgent Response System (FURS), hear from other counties and the CDSS Cal FURS team, share lessons learned, resources, and discuss what support is needed to move forward with optimal implementation of the California FURS mobile response system.

The agenda for this this half-day virtual convening includes:

  • Information and updated data from CDSS about the FURS Statewide Hotline and Mobile Responses
  • FURS Funding Q&A session
  • Siskiyou County sharing their model for FURS Mobile Responses, including the FURS team responding with CWS staff on referrals for families with prior CWS cases
  • How ageism and bias can influence how we respond to youth and caregivers in crisis, and strategizes to mitigate bias during stressful interactions
  • County training needs related to FURS

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

County Leadership Teams who are responsible for FURS implementation, including directors, managers, supervisors, contracted or partner agencies, and lead staff.
