ECHO Complex Care: Elevating a Family's Experience

ECHO Complex Care is your opportunity to active participate in an “All Teach-All Learn” model with both subject matter experts and your your direct practice peers throughout the state of California. This ECHO series will focus on creative approaches to help elevate a family's experience navigating child welfare and other systems of care.

Supporting families impacted by the child welfare system requires an open mindset and an understanding of the grief loss and trauma that’s related to out of home placement. Drawing on concepts from value laden language, emotional intelligence, the elements of psychological safety and STAND principles, participants will explore these essential skills needed to truly engage in authentic and supportive ways with families.

This is a four-part series. When you sign up for one, we hope you will make it to all four. If you register for this course, we will ask for submissions of a real-life case for the case presentation segment of the ECHO session.

The case presentation is not intended to be intimidating, rather, we hope you feel excited about the opportunity! You are likely familiar with the case consultation or case staffing process, this will be no different! It is intended to be uplifting, strengths based, solution focused and will contribute to the “all teach, all learn model” that is ECHO. It is also a chance to receive case specific considerations from all session participants (including our subject matter experts), that will likely help you get unstuck or find resolve in navigating the complexities of your case.

About our subject matter experts:
