Defusing Hostile Situations: Crisis Intervention De-escalation Techniques for Trauma-Informed Practice

This workshop will provide participants with a better understanding of the various types of hostile situations they may encounter as Human Services professionals. Participants will learn the connection between the effects of trauma and human behavior. They will learn to identify an individual in crisis and will know how to best prevent crisis escalation. Participants will learn best practices for crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques required to defuse hostile situations and challenging behaviors most effectively.
