Crisis Intervention and De-Escalation

This interactive workshop will provide participants with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques for effective outcomes with youth, caregivers, and their support team. Participants will identify their purpose within interventions along with how to stabilize the youth and their caregivers, as well as ourselves in challenging situations. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and practice proven approaches and strategies to ensure the safety of the youth as well as the support team. This workshop is designed with the needs of child welfare professionals, including those working as part of FURS Mobile Response teams, in mind.

After attending this training, participants will be able to:

  • Be able to successfully address each stage of the Escalation Cycle
