This training is designed to increase supervisors’ knowledge of SDM policies, procedures and definitions and help them gain skills in integrating SDM into their supervisory activities.
After attending this training, participants will be able to:
- Support effective caseworker use of the SDM model
- Serve as an SDM resource for staff
- Value the importance of training, coaching and quality assurance through case reading as a primary intervention
- Understand the key supervisory responsibilities in approving overrides and assessments, correcting mistakes, and using risk level to assign cases and support caseworker reassessments
In addition, participants will be able to support key SDM practices, including explaining assessment purposes and results to families, ensuring rigorous use of immediate safety plans, and making effective decisions about cases.
