Child and Family Team Meetings: Facilitation Training

This comprehensive training includes the Overview training and will provide participants with basic Child and Family Team (CFT) meeting facilitation knowledge and skills. Trainees will learn:

  • Key elements of team meetings
  • CFT Meeting structure, timeframes and participants
  • Your role as a facilitator
  • Facilitator skills
  • Structured problem-solving and solution-focused dialogue within team meetings
  • How to create safe, inclusive and empowering spaces for child/youth and family voice and choice
  • An introduction to Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) and how to use CANS to reflect the needs and strengths of the child and family

Trainees will have opportunities for hands-on facilitation practice throughout the training and will be equipped to facilitate child and family team meetings.
