Child and Family Team Meeting Learning Collaborative

This Interactive Learning Collaborative will focus on the many aspects of child and family team (CFT) implementation, as well as fidelity of facilitating and participating in CFT meetings. Strategies for engaging the family and their network of natural supports will be explored, along with facilitation tips.

The CFT Learning Collaborative series will include:

  • Opportunities for building skills in facilitation
  • Strategies for integration of Safety Organized Practice (SOP) and alignment with the Integrated Core Practice Model (ICPM), California Child Welfare Core Practice Model (CPM), and CFT
  • Tips for the integration of the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) as well as other assessments, including SDM
  • Exploration of the roles of the facilitator, social worker and other professional roles on the team, and the importance of the work completed before, during and after the CFT meeting
  • Strategies to ensure inclusion of child and family voice
  • Ideas to ensure quality and fidelity of the CFT process
  • Cross-county sharing

This Learning Collaborative will provide support for skill development, problem-solving, sharing of best practices, and strategies for improving outcomes for children and families.
