UC Davis Human Services Tribal Programs is pleased to present a four-part series designed to build resilience in yourself and in the communities you serve.
Resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, and threats or significant sources of stress. It means “bouncing back” from difficult experiences and feeling stronger and more capable to cope with challenges than ever before. We will explore effective strategies to achieve immediate sustainable and measurable change, leave the unnecessary behind, and restore some normality back into our lives – to amplify productivity and see positive results!
Module 1: Growing Resilience
This workshop addresses the unique challenges that workers face in a new or changing work environment. We’ll learn to integrate concepts of positive engagement with colleagues and clients to rebuild the relational pieces of the work you do. We’ll also provide strategies for practicing wellness and mindfulness.
Module 2: Mastering Your Daily Routine
This workshop provides strategies for increasing productivity levels in the workplace. We’ll learn to leverage our strengths for best work outcomes and obtain time and stress management skills. We’ll also employ practical key strategies to engage and motivate yourself and others in the workplace.
Module 3: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
This workshop discusses strategies for bringing self-awareness to community needs for diversity, equity and inclusion. We’ll cover the topics of unconscious bias, microaggressions, communication skills, and conflict management through a cultural lens.
Module 4: Providing Trauma-Informed Services
This workshop explores the topic of trauma. We’ll understand the impact of trauma from childhood to adulthood and the effects it has on people’s behaviors. We’ll learn crisis-intervention and de-escalation techniques to best respond and serve those who have experienced trauma. We’ll discover how to provide caring, compassionate and empathetic services that are trauma-informed to create a culture of healing.
Who should attend?
This training is tailored for tribal programs within human services, but is open to all who are interested in learning how to build resilience within themselves and their communities.
