Anti-Racist Practice: Foundational

As Child Welfare professionals, we have an ethical duty to demonstrate cultural humility and become actively anti-racist in our work to best serve vulnerable children, youth and families. This class provides a foundation of historical and current events and definitions related to racism. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the nature, causes, and costs of present-day racism, racial discrimination, and racial inequality; how these impact children and families involved in the child welfare system; and how to integrate these concepts into providing quality case management services.
